We do Mail Order
We have more Harvey sleeves, with thanks to John Glassburner.
We here at Intoxica have always admired the cover art for Sun Ra's magnificent 'Futuristic Sounds' album. Released on Savoy MG-12169 in 1961, the cover is simple, in a kind of cod-Dali fashion, yet sums up the mood of the album perfectly.
We are pleased to annouce we are no longer alone in our quest for Harvey sleeves and information on Harvey, visit John's great new site at www.HarveyAlbums.com
Here it is:

Imagine our pleased expressions when this album by the Bill Hardman Quintet turned up...even more wigged-out, and unmistakably by the same artist.
Also, of course, on Savoy from 1961, as it has the next catalogue number after the Ra (MG-12170). Was the mysterious 'Harvey' a Savoy house sleeve artist? It would appear so, as the next sleeve to appear was this, by the Ward Singers.
This one is MG-14060, from some time in the early 60s. The Ward Singers were a staple of Savoy's extensive gospel catalogue at the time, and a further 7 albums of theirs are listed on the rear of the cover...did they all have Harvey art? We hope so!
Finally, there's this, MG-14121, from the Rev.Cleophus Robinson.
Much lighter on the surrealism, but still identifiably Harvey.
So, we like Harvey, but have been unable to find out anything about him, and so far have found no further sleeves by him, although the odds are in favour of him having done more for Savoy at the time. If you know of any more, let us know, or send us a scan so we can add it to our Harvey tribute page!!
STOP PRESS!!! One of our regular customers has just turned up this beauty,
It's MG-12177, from 1962, this shows how Harvey (of the covers we've seen so far) made a unifying theme out of his jazz covers by depicting the instrumentation of the band line-up in a surrealist fashion (i guess he decided that there wasn't room to depict ALL the instruments on the Ra, but small groups just suited his style!). Note the shift from yellow/orange to a turquoise-themed cover!
STOP PRESS AGAIN!!! It's a rainy July in London, but we now have this lovely exotica-tinged Harvey to keep us amused! The spear makes a particularly nice touch! This is MG-12175, and so far it looks like they're all from the early '60s....
Latest find...no scan yet, but Savoy MG 12144 is 'Imagination' by Curtis Fuller, which has a beautiful Harvey cover with an instrument-adorned tree and a giant musical stave with a hole in it! It's from 1959, apparently, and according to a Japanese book of jazz album art, is by "H.Lubinsky" (although Herman Lubinsky owned Savoy, so...). The book also says that the Perry Robinson cover is by a "P.Harvey", but they're definitely by the same man.
December 2004 and another Harvey turns up:
